How To: Scare the Piss Out of a New Mom

Ok all my doctor friends. Wanna know one of the quickest ways to scare the piss out of a new mom?? And when I say quick I mean instant gratification. Complete loss of color from her face. Heart dropping to her toes.

What they’ll do is go in and make a small cut, that way his head will be able to grow. Sounds scary, I know. But it’s really a simple procedure.

Sounds scary?! No, dear one. You should read more. Because that is not a sufficient adjective for the horrific idea of someone cutting open my two week old sons skull. It’s a pretty small step from ‘stable’ to ‘wtf are you talking about’ when you hear the doctor say that.

So yeah. I had that to think about all last week. Not a good scenario for my anxiety. But today it was explained better. Apparently little ones soft spot at the top of his head is teeny tiny. Sometimes when this is the case, it closes up too early and doesn’t allow the skull to grow with the brain. Naturally, that can be a problem. So they go in, open it back up, and let it grow as it should have on its own. Still slightly horrifying, but makes sense. So far they aren’t doing any more than monitoring him to make sure his head is actually growing. I hoping that’s as far as this needs to go.

Anyway. Back to you physicians.

Tact.

takt/
noun
adroitness and sensitivity in dealing with others or with difficult issues.
“the inspector broke the news to me with tact and consideration”

Do they teach you guys this in school?? Because damn. It would be considered a  fabulous tool in your line of work. Just a thought.

Stay weird, y’all XOXO ❤️
